In short, it's as bad as it gets. Being irreverent requires a great amount of courage and intelligence. The first trait is unsettlingly evident in all the directorial efforts, however with the absence of the latter quotient, it soon derails into a series of misadventures and unimaginable boredom. And that's not all. What Satyajit Ray unwaveringly unleashed is layers of emotional depth without spiraling into sentimental abyss . What Srijit does with the two stories is simply the opposite. In the first film, he transforms a story of schoolboyish prank sparkling with refreshing twists into a lurid tale of vengeance and retribution limping with the burden of low IQ cliches and B grade bollywood tropes. Unwatchable. Unperdonable. And in the second it gets weirder. The fun is gone, the genius gone, the wit is gone. We are left with Srijit and his peers for eternity. RIP short story. All hail soap.
