Were it not for the visual effects and time-period accurate settings, this would be a complete waste of $$$. Zero development of Napoleon's character through his childhood, poorly developed history of his rise to power, and disappointing portayal of his international relations. How did he become such a great tactician? And at no point are we presented with a justification for England's stance on why he needed to be defeated. As he marched into Russia, he wrote to Josephine about having the Army of Germany with him. Germany did not exist until 1871. Almany or Prussia would have been more accurate. Too focused on hos relationship with Josephine and what happened to his second wife and mother of his child? So many holes. Very disappointed.

Excellent, gripping, and well done. The spiritual connotations are subtle, yet ever-present, though not overtly referenced or discussed. The time hops are well done and easy to follow. Characters are developed just enough to provide context, without unnecessary minutia. This is not a movie for those who want everything spoon-fed to them.
