If that doesn’t correct things for you, then read The Battle for Spain by Antony Beever (a highly respected historian). This will tell you about the atrocities committed by the leftists, anarchists, communists, etc. (Yes, there were similarities on the right, but they were tame in comparison; Franco’s was more a military operation than a blood thirsty free-for-all).
The thing that concerns me most is how similar things are here to how they were in Spain by July 1936 (another reason you should read up on the events and climate that led up to the Spanish Civil War).
I gave the show 2 stars because despite its absolute historical inaccuracy, and obvious revisionist approach, it was entertaining and the characters are endearing.
If you watch this, PLEASE remember it presents a false history.
