Conmen Hell

This is the India they don't want you to see. This is the India you will never see as an outsider. This is the India, middle class Indians and non-politicos are rarely exposed to. Watch it for the pure rawness - of conflicting inter-class / religious / familial interests. Watch it for exceptional method acting. Watch it to explore India's legendary ganglands captured in a very real, earthy way... most of the time. No bollywood masala here folks. Just the pungent smell of fresh gunpowder!

No spoilers ahead. If I can sum up The Order, I would say it is Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Supernatural with a healthy dose of witchcraft (Salem-ishy) thrown into it - in a very exciting good way. I don't know who these people are in real life. I never saw their social media profiles. All because the characters they play are what I am hooked on. And I don't want to leave that fantasy at the moment. Each one will grow on you like a magic vine. Intertwining your reality so you question it - I mean, are Michelle Obama and Warren Buffett really a part of a grand secret society? I still wonder in awe. Anyways, watch it if you are into wizards, werewolf and witches. Or monsters, magic and megalomaniacs. It's an exciting take on each of them. You won't be disappointed. And when it is over, you will learn some abominable spells to curse Netflix for cancelling the much awaited 3rd season. Bless you Dark Humour...

So many chills down the spine. So many goosebumps. So much nostalgia. Peppered with a hint of 80s' corny stuff in a self-deprecating, wholesomely good way! All supported with a great cast who bring alive the characters and backstories in a believable way. Even though Pat Morita is not with us, his ethereal presence throughout elevates the series a notch higher. Definitely watch it if you are an 80s kid, give or take a decade 😉. For those who belong to a later generation, Cobra Kai is intriguing enough to explore the original film series later. Thank you Ralph Machhio, William Zabka and Martin Kove for coming back and giving us this gem of a series. I am sure everyone will have their favourite, but I am rooting for Johnny every second and am embedded firmly in his corner! Eagerly looking forward to the 4th Season...

I think this sci-fi thriller is underrated even with a 77% fresh tomato rating. A cross between War Of The Worlds and Blair Witch, it's a pretty ambitious attempt that reels you into the lives of its affable characters, albeit at a shallow level but they do seem to grow on you with every scene. These characters come out as familiar faces (cliched might be a strong word) who we bond with as the story progresses... through their actions and emotions... all captured in the heat of the "documentation". I don't know if the makers intended it, but I think the bigger villian of the film is the existential threat rather than the monsters that keep you awake at night. And that just bumps this sci-fi survival horror another notch higher in my books.

Laughed so hard through it that I can't remember the last film that made me feel this good after spending one and a half hours with it. Plus the jokes are cleverly spaced throughout amidst anxious moments. Must watch for those who are looking for some light-hearted fun delivered by a bunch of talented entertainers.
