When I first saw this game announced I was buzzing. Watched the live stream, pre ordered as soon as I could and was eagerly waiting for it to drop. I played the game the moment was available and, wanting to experience it before multiplayer, jumped into the campaign.
The campaign is great, well written and directed. The structure of the missions was well done, and the side missions were a nice way to mix it up. And I would happily play through it all again.
Now the multiplayer was... okay. With campers quick to learn the best spots some games were a bit frustrating but they were playable, and other times it was a great experience. This is until you try to play a custom game. The Major disappointment when trying to as awful. The inability to set up a successful games without fiddling about with the menus constantly for 5 minutes of fun isn't worth it. Most of the new game modes they mentioned don't exist, and trying to play split screen on any multiplayer mode works, for approximately 2 minutes. Playing offline is a mess where you have to select the map and game mode before being up into a lobby and then having the time start counting down before you've had a chance to create a class. On top of that wanting to play a game with bots is more enjoyable in BO1. When they spot an enemy they root themselves in place and proceed to stare at you for 5 minutes before deciding to fire.
Zombies is in its own right, the best zombies experience I've had. The new Exfil system makes it feel like you actually achieve something when playing instead of just waiting to eventually die. The weather and new take of the WoW maps is a nice addition to it, though more maps would be more appreciated. As would the ability to play that split screen, because sometimes you don't want to fight off a horde of zombies like a loner when your mates are offline.
To conclude this I will say the game is great, if you only want the story and zombies experience. The multiplayer needs heavy work and feels half baked at most. Especially with bots and split screen capability. And warzone, just doesn't exist. You just get linked to modern warfare, which is also quite poor. Would rate higher, if I could do more of what was promised, and should have been made before considering releasing it to the public.
