The high energy of the show came right through on to the screen. The combination of shots from the live performance as well as the close ups and different camera angles gave this film a theater feeling with movie-like detail. Hats off to the producers, director, choreographers, and of course the wonderful cast. The dancing is on point, and the background characters make the show come alive. Jeremy Jordan, what can I say? Fantastic! Ben Fankhauser singing seize the day gave me chills. Also, has anyone else noticed how much he looks like Justin Trudeau? I especially enjoyed Meredith Inglesby's performance. The hilarity and seriousness with which she portrayed her characters was perfect. Obviously, Ben Cook is always a win! Kara Lindsay, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Aisha de Haas, Steve Blanchard... so many fantastic performances. Overall, one of the best stage to screen adaptations I have ever seen. This film made me laugh and brought tears to my eyes. Whether your a musical theatre nerd or are just looking for movie to watch, Newsies: The Broadway Musical (2017) will not disappoint!
