Adrienne Wasserman really doesn't know what she's talking about. I thought most of us would have seen Dido, and known that there was a biracial girl that was introduced into English society. Wasserman being a JEW would probably know that mulatto is a derogatory word, but maybe subjugating Arabs in their own homeland has gone to her head. On the show, I'm appreciative. It's not really contemporary, as much as most people do not study history at all, and only take from movies within the last 50 years that portrays the 19th century. I recently read about privacy at around this period and was pretty amazed at how people thought about sex. Theres def truth to sex being done publicly, and there is no way in any period a girl at around 22 would have been disgusted by a naked male. Atleast the least she has seen nude statues and knew what to expect. I really wish commenters would actually read over historic facts before they start to degrade a well thought out series with their xenophobic and ignorant reviews. I gather the only people writing negative reviews were the ones who expected an all white cast and a do-nothing story that runs in circles and is episodic. In this show the characters have thought out goals, are realistic, and enjoyable to watch.
