Better than Paradise and way better than Dominator but not as good as Burnout 3: Takedown. This game has nice new features that are welcome like the ability to ram traffic that is going the same direction you are and even send those traffic cars you've rammed into your rivals for a cool trick-shot takedown. the only problem i have with this game is it's event structure... instead of having stuff like crash mode and traffic-checking missions in a separate event tree they end up being mandatory to complete to advance to other race and road-rage events. I dislike this because they aren't as fun as the meat of the game which is races and road-rage events so they end up being a annoying chore/task you need to do to progress instead of side-missions like they should have been

Good entry in the series overall, I have it on PS2 and PSP, both are identical gameplay and content wise. Honestly, it's not as good as Burnout Revenge, Burnout Paradise and none of them are as good as Burnout 3: Takedown. My biggest problem with Dominator is it's non-skippable challenges that aren't that fun compared to just straight up racing, road-rage and crash events of the series past. Maniac and drift mode are just boring and tedious, I find myself begrudgingly slogging through those modes so i can get to events i actually want to play like road-rage.

If you can get past its flaws and wonkyness you'll become addicted pretty quickly. this game is easy to become obsessed with due to the tuning possibilities and mods. In my humble opinion the steam 2.3.1 version is the best version of the game, I know a lot of people will disagree with me on that.... but its just SO MUCH more stable than 2.2.1 or any of the modded versions you'll get on VStanced. it does crash quite frequently
