Somu Marthandam

After reading the various reviews went to watch the film with a lot of expectations. But was sadly disappointed- not that funny as made out to be. Maybe because of my built-up expectations? Performances were all good. And some enjoyable moments towards the end. But I have seen more enjoyable comedy films. The Tamil film “ayalan” was one such movie which I thoroughly enjoyed. When coming out of the theatre, felt that I had watched a nice movie. That feeling was absent while coming out after seeing Madgaon Express.

Came across this movie on a full lock down Sunday and decided to see it for want of anything better to do. Certainly happy that I decided upon this movie. Though the movie is more than two hours long, it keeps us glued to our seats with the anticipation of what’s going to come next. Tremendous direction and beautifully edited. A taut narrative and great background music. Another thing to be mentioned is all round good performances. Some cinematic licences have been taken which make you incredulous but overall an enjoyable experience. A Sunday well spent!
