Damien Chazelle's "Whiplash" of which was released in the early month of January during 2014, brought upon a wave and revolutionised the media industry with it's horribly captivating grotesque features, masked by the story of an inspiring upcoming drummer.
Initially I was excited by the soon to be released film "La La Land", another one of Damien's flawless films.
When I tell you this movie changed my life, it did. This movie shows a reminder that not only can films capture the attention of media with trendy, modern music, but also incorporate classical and sombre pieces.
However this may be, the movie wrecked me. The ending was one I will never forget, the twist, unforgivable. I would interpret the ending as a romantic tragedy, and the ruthlessness of the phrase "Right person, wrong time".
Mia and Sebastian were meant for each other, in all aspects, shapes, sizes, and forms, and yet, the demanding needs of a career tore them away from each other. They both had their dreams to pursue, which is terrific don't get me wrong.
The scene where it shown what they could've been though, was extremely upsetting. It brought tears to my eyes. But life's unfair, and sometimes, the only thing that's fair about life, is how it's unfair for everyone.
