Excellent early Hitchcock thriller about a young man (Derrick de Marney) wrongly accused of murdering a woman on a beach by two female bathers. The police accost him, but De Marney through cunning, escapes custody and ends up in the company of Erica Burgoyne (portrayed wonderfully by the late Nova Pilbeam) and a cat and mouse pursuit with the police ensues. Later, they connect with a character named Old Will, a transient who helps absolve De Marney of his supposed guilt. I don't want to give the ending away, but it is a nailbiter in the classic Hitchcock fashion.
