The film dives deep into the struggles of a young Asian-American man caught in the middle of two cultures, his aspirations and his families struggles. There are common stereotypes (especially in Hollywood) that follow the AAPI community, and it was refreshing to see this story line go against that grain. I hope that all viewers gain new perspective on children of immigrants growing up in the US, it’s literally two different worlds when you go to school and then go home. The heavy expectations are spot on when you see “Boogie” trying to figure out what’s right. Great film and representation of BIPOC. Bravo!
