I've been a fan of the Alien series since the 1979 original, and loved James Cameron's classic Aliens even more...but Alien 3 betrayed the fans and spit on Cameron's classic by killing all survivors of that epic film during opening & closing scenes - making Ripley and Newt's heroic journey a complete failure! I had hope that Alien Resurrection would re-launch the franchise with Ripley as a unique action hero, but the script was scatterbrained and the ending was slow-moving and visually ugly. The hybrid creature looked like a rough draft needing a serious re-design. I watched AR for the first time in 20 years...and it was worse than I remembered. Just a waste of a talented cast. (In contrast, Predator, from 1987, still holds up.)
