A.J. – Google

The very first episode addresses Steve Jones' unfortunate experience of being sexually abused by his stepfather. However, the makers of this limited series found it necessary to simulate the abuse in a softcore scene with a child actor and an adult actor involved. I've read over a half dozen professional film critics' comments and not one has mention how horribly inappropriate this scene is. This is something I truly hope does not become a trend in filmmaking. Realism or shock value is understandable, but this was plain disgusting. I couldn't care less about what adult actors choose to do on set but coaching a child to simulate a sex act should be publicly rebuked.

Offers interesting back stories. More so about the show than the Ricardos. But the actors just weren't enough like 3 of the 4 main actors of I Love Lucy. Arnaz, Ball, Vance, & Frawley all had very distinct voices and mannerisms. J.K. Simmons was much like Frawley but the others should have been recast. Kidman and Bardem were too old. Sorry. The CBS movie Lucy (2003) was perfectly cast. Also, the story may have focused too much on Ball and therefore the fact that Arnaz was the real brain behind the show is recognized but not a focal point. The title indicates that the story is about both of the Ricardos.
