Garbage. An overly familiar storyline with some feeble attempts to shock the audience. Just ho-hum and you can feel the heavy hand of the director/write trying to push the audience - the result is that the movie comes off as laboured with a forcing hand trying to spark a reaction. It would seem that the only reason it was set in 2006 was probably a combination of wanting to use certain songs in the film and for the writer/director to relive her early 20s (she is 38). Despite what you might read, there is nothing in this film about current social issues or edginess. It's just on a tired and well-worn path, written about for centuries.

In short, terrible. Although you won't think this is true at the beginning as it seems to start off well. Yellowstone and 1883 are vastly superior. There are so many inconsistencies coupled with illogical behavior that it will drive you crazy. One young blonde actress is even styled straight out of the 2020s and it's jarring. There was no need for it. Very little makes sense in terms of outcomes and character's motivation. Also there are so many improbable events that it feels lazy and stupid. I won't mention them here otherwise it will spoil it. But there are a lot. Plus you'll be asking yourself - how dd that happen? Where did that come from, and a simple "that's not true at all". Worst of all, when watching, my partner and I would just call out what was going to happen next - it is that predictable and lazy. Also this really is just a set up for a second season. Very little gets resolved but there isn't even any cliffhanger ending - it just meanders endlessly in the final episode and you'll be glad it's over.
