Some people might have found this movie boring/confusing. So did I but after the movie ended I thought about it and it’s actually a really good concept. Movies usually have a lot going on but this in the other hand is more calm and “boring”. So it makes you think about the plot more than the things that happen during the movie (like fight scenes).
My favourite part is that he notices that he was never someone important. Like the name “Joe” a boring/unimportant name that Joi gave him (Joe is what they call Joi owners I think). Or that he wasn’t the miracle child. He’s just someone lonely wanting to be important for someone/something.
This movie also shows that not all Hero’s are someone who matter. Most hero’s are shown as extraordinary or unique while K was just someone normal like all of us.
They also could be a quote in quote background character even though if the movie is about them/ based around them.
So he’s a main character who’s actually a background character. A main character in our eyes/perspective of the movie but not in their actual “world”.
I think the movie being “boring” just adds to this. Showing that he’s just not that important in their story.
Most super heroes are inspiring who we want to be but Joe/K is a hero who is how we are already and not how we want to be
