This season was okay, but I liked the previous seasons with Kelly, Hannah and Daribe much, much more. The 3 new protectors don't have as much energy and charisma as the last 3. Kelly, Hannah and Daribe had a lot of mystery to solve and their were some major plot twists that were absolutely genius, that kept the viwers hooked. But with the new protectors the mysterys arn't as engaging and the plot is pretty weak after seeing Kelly, Hannah and Daribe unfreeze their whole town, Chuck teleporting from the 1800 to fix his sisters curse, Kelly getting poisoned by the magic causing her to become a terrible person etc. Also in the last session we saw some major character development and we saw how the 3 girls grew in their friendship with the magic as well as being supported by the OC's. A lot of difficult, real life problems were bought up as well, like Kelly learning to share the work, and Daribe learning to accept her parents divorce and a lot more. Also one of the major problems that KHD (Kelly, Hannah, Darbie) had was the side effects from the spices. Wich the new trio never experienced. Also I really missed the OC's and their advice, I would have really liked to see them becoming closer after they fell apart. Finally KHD had some very sweet moments wich were very emotional the new protectors not that much. And the ending seemed like the directors were just confused on how to finish it. They could have made a super awesome ending with the whole"we can make the sour.au do good" but no they did not and decided to make a very confusing and non- satisfactory ending. One thing I actully liked however was how the new protectors weren't best friends right off the bat and instead grew into it. To sum it up the plot could have been MUCH better after seeing the plot in the 2nd and 3rd sessions, the protectors were pretty boring, the ending wasn't the best, the emotion and the backstories were a little lame, and I am definitely not the only one who misses KHD, In short probably could have done much better just keeping the old protectors or if the directors had no new ideas, just to end the show in the 4th season, was it? Whatever- without the book going to Zoe, Leo and Ish. If their is another season coming I'd like to see more KHD, OC's and what actually happened at the end of mystery city- because I was pretty confused, and also maybe exploring the backstory of the cookbook, like who created it, what were it's roots etc.
