I came to this book after listening “The Covenant of Water” which was a gorgeous work. And oh my goodness I just finished it and I keep crying and reflecting on the humanity in this book as well as my own life and others. It brings such ranges of emotions celebration, grief, relief, curiosity, frustration, compassion, etc. Even with the decisions all the characters faced you see the absolute humanity in all of us from following our instincts and being successful to making grave and life threatening mistakes to ourselves and others. This book is a complete masterpiece and compels me to want to listen to almost anything Verghese has written. I completely recommend this book to anyone who willing to feel.
