Baldur’s Gate 3 is a 10/10 near-perfect game. The game has some minor issues, primarily split screen camera issues and tedious inventory management, but any time I ran across these issues the captivating gameplay made me quickly forget. Whether you play the game for the narrative or the Dungeons and Dragons 5E combat, you’ll be hooked. The depth of the role playing allows you to be a charismatic pacifist or heartless murderer. The three difficulties allow for varying levels of strategy and the dialogue options allow for true role-playing experiences. At one point a squirrel bites your foot and you can choose to study its behavior or kick it into a tree causing its gruesome death, its funnier when you see it yourself. I have 57 hours invested in the game so far (only in Act 1 out of 3) and plan to break 100 easily. You can beat the entire game in under 57 hours, but its estimated to take 100+ for those who wish to explore every nook and cranny. Larian Studios has delivered a polished product, a rarity in the modern gaming landscape. I wholeheartedly recommend Baldur’s Gate 3 to gamers of all preferences.
