I love this show. Mary McCormack shines in this role. It recreates the era I grew up in (actually I’m from an earlier time) when childhood was like the Wild West—freedom to roam, settle your own differences, skin your knees and become independent.
And parents right or wrong, ruled.
One TV, clean your plate, “because I said so”, one phone, and sibling alliances.
The repartee between the parents and the mom and the kids—well, it’s exquisite. Great writing.
