What would happen if a Gen Z kid grew up into his mid-late teens only listening to the “peak” Grunge of the 90s (Nirvana, Alice In Chains, etc), then decided to start making music themselves?
And was damn good at it?
Well, look no further: this album is the fruit of such a hypothetical! It isn’t the true story of Zilla’s musical influence and come up, but it might as well be considering how this album sounds.
Not only is it evocative or 90s alternative in the best ways, it is amazing music in its own right-and considering Zillakami’s eclectic style, he does just enough to make this album feel nostalgic AND new.
So… go listen n stuff, and don’t forget bout City Morgue! They writing the hits all the kids wanna bop to! ong!
