One of the best movies I have watched. I am a Lokesh and Vijay fan, and when the movie was receiving immense hype, I worried that it would not live up to its hopes. But boy, was I wrong! This is one of the most complete theatrical experiences. I'll do a brief breakdown of the movie:
1. VIJAY - What a man this guy is! Never did I expect to see him in such a unique and character-driven role. He got the chance, and he delivered beyond expectations.
2. Background Score - I know of many people who didn't enjoy Ani's work in this movie. But I thoroughly enjoyed his OSTs (especially Ordinary Person and I'm Scared - it made me feel like I was watching a Scorsese film). Very subtle but extremely powerful.
3. VFX and Cinematography - I loved all of the shots and the fight scenes. The coffee shop sequence was brutal, and I loved how epic it was. Very grounded fight, but the impact and aura that it created were intense. Same case with the Hyena segment. The connection at the fag end was something I loved as a viewer. The only segment that I felt out of place or a bit too much in terms of camerawork was the portion where Elisa and Leo escape from Antony and Harold, and they do a P.O.V. shot of the Eagle flying around, capturing multiple moving parts of the fight. This was unique for an Indian film, but felt like it would have had the impact even if that sequence had been avoided.
Overall, great film! A must-watch for all audiences and movie lovers. Thanks to Vijay and Lokesh for giving this intense, epic, and immersive theatre experience.
