Life as we know it was a book with a very good what if scenario. What if our world was flipped upside down, what if simple things we took for granted like obtainable water electricity heat and food were u common and scarce. What choices would families make in life or death situations with not enough food/ resources. all of these issues are talked in this book. In the building and addiction every chapter of higher stakes and an ever so worsening world we see the main family struggle through diseases from mosquitos, ashy air, harsh winter, and much more. The author does a good job keeping a seemingly boring sit inside all day because there’s nothing to do expect chop wood and creates intense moment an and situations that have the reader on the edge of there seat. Seeing the dialog between family members as they deal with real questions like who would they pick to survive if only one could, seeing them ask themselves these questions or more so the main character miranda and also the high tense conversations due to stress is amazing. I would definitely recommend this book👍
