If you have any knowledge of the Anne Rice series this show is based on, I can't imagine this show being anything other than a massive disappointment. I could not get over the casting the editing choices right off the bat so I literally could not stomach watching more than the first episode. Rowan Mayfair was horribly miscast - she is supposed to be a statuesque, intelligent, blond doctor with a strong presence, but the actress who plays her (who was fine in The White Lotus) comes across as an inarticulate ingenue. The other character that needed to be cast well - Lasher - is so cringe I couldn't even watch the scenes that he is in. If you get Lasher this wrong, you might as well pack it up and go home. The fact that Michael's character was wholly missing was also a fatal error since he's the other main character and plays a pivotal role in the whole story. What a waste resources on an unwatchable show. (By comparison, the Vampire was quite good, so too bad this one fell so hard on its face.)
