Ridiculous two dimensional acting from Stewart who butchered the role with awkward hammy over-acting and a breathy whisper throughout the entire film. Her facial tics made her portrayal completely comical. Other cast members who are wonderful in other roles also struggle with the poorly written and devised script.
The movie feels clunky throughout - highlights include Bizarre dream sequences featuring Anne Bolynne and 60% of the script centres on conversations about how cold everyone is. Scenes shift from one to the other with all the grace of a rusted gearbox in an old robin reliant.
The music scoring throughout makes an obvious but ailing effort to elicit emotion from the audience - a lazy mechanism by producers to make up for the poor acting and script. This was more reminiscent of a tacky horror soundtrack than a biopic.
The entire production is a shameful representation of Princess Diana, reducing her life and work to a flat and whiny and 2D portrayal which is literally laughable throughout. A shockingly poor tribute to a wonderful human.
