Adipurush is a heavy VFX based film that takes a modern take on the Indian epic Ramayana.
The performances in Adipurush are also mixed. Prabhas is good as Raghav, but he doesn't quite capture the same sense of divinity that other actors have brought to the role of Lord Rama. Kriti Sanon is also good as Janaki, but she doesn't have much to do in the film. Saif Ali Khan is the standout performer, bringing a lot of charisma and menace to the role of Lankesh.
If you're a fan of the Ramayana, you'll probably enjoy Adipurush. However, if you're looking for a more traditional adaptation of the epic, you may be disappointed.
* The film's VFX are some of the best I've seen in a Bollywood film. The city of Lanka is brought to life in stunning detail.
* However, the VFX involving Vaanara Sena portion of the film is not as good. The CGI is a bit clunky, and the action scenes are not as fluid. This is a noticeable drop in quality, and it does take away from the overall experience.
I think the film would have been more successful if it had been marketed as a "spiritual VFX action-adventure film."
