Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom is a 1975 film by Pier Paolo Pasolini. It's one of the most disturbing and difficult viewing experiences in cinema, a long series of degradations visited upon a group of teens by sadistic fascists. It runs just under two hours. Call Me Bae is a new series on Amazon Prime, eight episodes of sitcom length. I’m not sure watching Salò and then watching it all over again isn’t a less painful use of four hours than the same time spent with Bae.

Slow, atmospheric, psychological and less scary. The pacing and the plot could've been better. And the movie doesn't explain anything until the final act. So for about 2/3 of the movie, viewers don't have much clue about what's happening. The movie gets points for the aesthetics, the cinematography and acting. What it fails is in terms of storytelling. If you are looking for a classic whodunit horror thriller, this movie is gonna disappoint you very badly. 7/10

Do you know what's worse than a terrible movie? A movie that'd got immense potential but jerked it away by lazy writing. The ratings for this movie are just like it's plot. On the surface, the critics and the juries at the awards shows want you to believe that this is a pretty damn fine film, but once you look beyond its premise that offers some decent acting, you'll find you've been conned into watching a hollow narrative filled with way too many plot holes and a completely ludicrous ending.
