Firestarter (2022) was a very retro movie experience. Traditional and very '80's title sequence and end credits, John Carpenter soundtrack and a very' 80's crafted feel to the direction and special effects. The lack of modern technology, smartphones etc, was covered in the plot, but it felt more deliberate to force the retro vibe.
Even the overall feeling of 'that could have been a lot better' when it ended, was very nostalgic. That feeling when the cover of the VHS tape was better than the movie.
The movie was 2 out of 5, but I'll give an extra star for taking me back to my '80s cinema going days. 3/5
