In this hilarious sitcom, Bob Newhart plays Dick Loudon, a how-to book author who decides to give up the high life in New York City and purchase a small inn in rural Vermont with his wife Joanna. They quickly discover that their new neighbors are a rather eccentric bunch, including Michael Harris (Peter Scolari), the inn's handyman who always seems to make a mess of things, and Stephanie Vanderkellen (Julia Duffy), the inn's self-absorbed cocktail waitress. While the Loudons work to keep their inn afloat, they also have to deal with the antics of the quirky locals.

It helped me get interested in cooking, and I've been doing it ever since.
