This album is near perfection! It's vulnerable and full of a variety of songs. NF's ability to connect with his listeners is unmatched. He can bring you to tears with songs like Mama and even Happy, then, have your head bobbin to a great hip-hop beat on the next. NF shows not only his lyrical ability but his creativity, versatility and artistry in this album while showing improvement from the previous albums. It is clear that he puts a lot of time and thought into his craft with each song sounding like a polished and radio-ready piece of art. In the past he has been criticized for being too "depressing" with the general tone and lyrics in his music. (Although his fans would disagree) He has been struggling with how to change the tone and still connect with his large fan base without them feeling like he changed or conformed his true self. Intertwining his soul into his music, he has become almost tethered to his music, which is great for people that need someone real to listen to, but, he needs to grow as a person. He did just that in this album! He seems to find a great way of moving into a lighter tone and feel while still sounding and feeling like an NF album. There is still very theatrical sound with beautiful production, still vulnerable, full of passion and that unmatched way he can connect to YOU, goosebumps enticing, but also with upbeat instrumentals and a more confident and hopeful Nate. In addition he has amped up those catchy melodic flows and tuned his singing voice beautifully, giving off an Ed Sheeran or Mumford & Sons type ballat performance in many tracks. This man is way underrated, underappreciated and kept under the radar and it's a shame because the world is full of hurt people who could really use some healing, which is what NFs music does for it's listeners.
