I really liked the first season of this show which got me hooked initially. Likely, I kept watching because of the character development (wanting to see what happened to characters I had become attached to), and was surprised to find in the next two seasons that I actually began to really appreciate Cal, even though he was a killer. It takes to Season 3 to understand completely how and why Cal may have killed Silus, and I think that arrival of understanding and compassion shows good cinematic development, ongoing. There were portions in the middle of Season 3 where the story seemed to lose its way or I got bored, or maybe was weary of binge-watching....lol. Regardless, I am sad that the series was cancelled, as it had reached a typical paradoxical conclusion whereby in trying to right the wrongs of the "Meyerist" past, the characters taking over the movement still had their own wrongs waiting to be revealed and dealt with. In storytelling, as in life, this is penultimate, I think, and laid a good foundation for a future for the series. Also, very interesting juxtaposition in the series, as in real life, in Lilith's character being mentally ill or a mystically endowed with truth shaman. These are questions increasingly of interest in the modern world.
