The Lord of the rings spin off called the rings of power, what’s not to love about this show. The only down side to this television series is that it is in competition with HBO’s House of the dragon spin off of GOT. Both of these shows are extremely good and both have their own story lines to tell as a fantasy/ period based series, however I believe that ROP(rings of power) is slightly edging out HOD(house of dragons) in the CGI department. Who wouldn’t love to live in that mountain the dwarfs live in now. All the hype about it not being a great series because of how they implemented characters that reflect our current society is utterly crazy. If you haven’t started watching this show you really may want to begin now because episode 2 and 3 has some huge wow factor moments.

First of all let me start by saying to all of the GOT fans, if you are expecting a show that is exactly like the one you grew to love, remember that in order to get to what we experienced in later seasons we must first make it past the beginning back story. HOD(“house of the dragon”) is definitely a spin off of the original story, however it focuses mainly on the Blond hair Targaryen family line. If we remember that particular line was somehow wiped out with the exception of a small few in GOT. It is interesting to see what caused such a large group of people in civilization to be removed? What was the thing that contributed to their ultimate demise? HOD seems to be making a very good effort at unraveling the mystery behind the Targaryen extinction and bridging the gap between the two stories. If the first episode of HOD is an indication on how far they are willing to go to show us the deep rich history of the Targaryen bloodline then sign me up for the rest of the seasons, because this will be an epic ride.
