MOVIE REVIEW: ANIMAL
If you want to watch a movie with solid action and BGM & don't care for plot, then go for it. Its a good masala movie. But in my opinion, it has a lot of problems, like the weak plot and the toxic masculinity and misogynistic attitude it promotes. It follows non-linear storytelling with jumps in time and space, which does not seem like a big problem, but some audiences may fail to fully understand the events that occur in the film. The issues in a father-son relationship and their emotional distance alongside the dark side of human nature—wildness and savageness, as its title suggests—are at the core of this film, and to an extent, this movie is successful in justifying the title. Only the strong acting of Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol's silent roles gives life to the movie. Rashmika and Tripti have done a good job too. The BGM and songs are outstanding, but sometimes it make the scene cringe too. For example, in the hotel-fight scene, the cousins of the protagonist, or rather antagonist, started singing the song, making the scene cringe. However, the action choreography was top-notch; it makes your adrenaline high and keeps you attached to your seat. Another disappointing part is that Bobby Deol's role was too small; he deserves more screen time. The ending is simple and rather dull, not too exciting or interesting. There is an end-credit scene too, which is good, and it prepares the stage for a sequal.
