Same story different show. The Black chef is the best but still loses. Same on pretty much every competition show. It's so obvious when the producers step in and make the show play out the way they want it to. So disappointing that this narrative has yet to change.
These mixture of home chef and professional chef shows are a bit ridiculous also. Smearing gritty chocolate on bread and spraying canned whipped cream on top is no comparison for creating a short dough from scratch, with tasty smooth chocolate and banana brulee. The judges were obviously looking for who they liked rather than the actual integrity of the food. No way anyone who has paid their dues in a profession over decades should have to compete against those of us who just like to put something together.
