Maybe I have been spoilt with other adaptations but this feels lacklustre to say the least. The plot jumps, likely due to harsh editing down to maintain some form of pace. Sets felt like they were suffering from budget cuts. There seems to be some attempts to give it some gloss, last minute wide shots etc but generally this feels like a Doctors special, filmed like a soap. A far far cry from And Then There Were None, which was very impressive. Actors even felt like were out of practice, either not given time to hone scenes or just suffering from poor direction. The lead roles were well cast, just needed warming up a bit! It’s fine to ‘veg out’ to but fails to compete against previous offerings. It’s frustrating as we know that the BBC can do this type of thing very well. Fingers crossed for next years offering!
