It started out strong but then started to drag on, with plot holes and completely unexplained scenes. There are definitely big twists, but feel overly contrived. I found the ending especially ridiculous and the main character a little one dimensional with her tortured tough girl act. She just walks around assaulting every man she meets. I felt disappointed when I got to the end.
Some of the same scenes being replayed over and over grew very repetitive. We are shown the gruesome helicopter scene, the sister being shot, and Joe being shot many times. We see the police officer Kierce fainting over and over. Felt like it needed to get to the point. And am I supposed to believe after chugging down these pills (which we never get details on) it takes a detective until episode 7 or 8 to realize they say BURKETT on them in giant letters? Also odd the hospital wouldn’t consider the idea he was just having side effects from medication.
I’m not sure why the adoption/step brother sideplot was included except to just try to confuse the audience. Was pointless. Was also ridiculous how every other scene was Maya dumping her kid off on someone else. And why was her friend Shane so creepy and basically stalking her? Just to be another red herring? It didn’t actually serve the overall plot.
Then the idea that she has to actually die at the end is silly. She already got them on video confessing to their crimes. Did she need to die? Would a mother want to leave her child an orphan?
