I was iterested in your piece on Warrendale Wagyu . It was interesting and commendable that a beef retailer is working so closely and successfully with farmers. I feel however that your programme was negligent in not pointing out the difference between Japanese Wagyu and others such as that provided by the Yorkshire based company. Wagyu describes not only the breed (in this case cross bred with a European breed) but also the method of very careful, labour intensive rearing. It is misleading to baldly describe this beef as Wagyu without a qualification. I am not surprised by a commercial company doing so but I think it incumbent on a BBC programme to point out the difference.
