I’m just always entranced by Depp’s ability to transcend artistically. As a period piece, I felt it was fascinating. Excellent performances from Malkovich and others. Parts were offensive but added to help the viewer appreciate the debauchery. Gave me a broader view of the politics of the time. The women’s roles were another interesting feature of the film. Highlighted were the wives, struggling actresses, and women who were sexual objects for the men.

What would you expect from the "cream of the crop" but excellence! Thoroughly enjoyed it.
