Great acting, suspenseful, visually appealing. I didn't read the book so didn't know what to expect, but I think the path to the ending was not as skillfully crafted as the rest of the story, making it seem preposterous rather than ingenious.

I liked this film and found it much better than the review percentages led me to believe. This is an anti-war film. I want to see the 1943 version, too, as the name of it (The Human Comedy) must mean it has a different focus emotionally.

I enjoyed this film. It is worth watching, and better than its reviews and box office failure status per Wikipedia’s notes re cost to make it and what it made after release. It should have just been a made for TV movie to protect it from that.

Not sure why this film got so many 1-star reviews unless it's from pro-Catholic dogmatists, or people who are not personally familiar with the damage the Roman Catholic Church has done and continues to do in the name of its misguided traditions.

This movie had great interviews that provided amazing details about trees and forests that need to be taken into account for us to truly make a better world and come out of our isolating mechanical worldview.

I have been reading The Lost Religion of Jesus by Keith Akers who makes the point that records of Jesus mostly exist through early church writings or writings about the early church and sects. I tuned into this hoping for something more contemporaneous with the life of the historical Jesus but the overly portentous narration that didn't give enough actual information made it it impossible to sit through this.
