I wouldn't recommend this book by any stretch of the imagination. It's very long and tedious and the storyline and message have no remarkable qualities. The literary style becomes quite painstaking also. The underlying theme relates to the value of trees in the world that we live in - in all their guises - but the narrative and literary style stifle the flow and more often than not you are left wondering what the author is trying to convey rather than following a good storyline or argument. When I read a book I like to feel that I am either learning or experiencing something novel. This book just left me wanting to reach the end and to read something with more substance.
