Paige Carrell

I haven't written a review before but seriously need to talk about this one because Grease is my all time favorite musical. First off the period is set in the 50's but all of the songs sound modern and remind me of Glee. The music is extremely important because it is supposed to transcend you to a time and place and although some of the songs are cute they totally miss the mark. The music is a failure in my opinion. Next, the casting didn't hit the mark either. The characters are totally unbelievable. Casting is a failure too. On to the writing. I don't like that the personalities of the Tbirds are a bit soft. They are supposed to be crude and tough. They miss the mark. The pink ladies need to be a bit outspoken but seem to be mousy. Almost every character is a fail. There are a few that truly capture the true feel of the 50's. Lastly I don't like that the film industry is trying to please the populous instead of making it period appropriate. None of this feels correct and doesn't draw attention. Overall it's just not believable.
