I think a lot the negative reviews failed to think outside of the box when it came to the plot and the storyline. You have to appreciate Lupita and her amazing skills as an actress! She did an amazing job in this movie, and I loved every bit of it. The only thing I wish was different is that she actually followed Eric into the water and saved herself as well. But, if you were paying attention to the movie, she did say to him,while they were in the church that she was dying. They developed a great friendship and he did what he could to save her. In the end of it all, she just wanted to be with her family.
