I don't know if I've written a review for a show before... but the narration, as well as the script for the narrators, made these a really hard watch. In the end I had to give up on it.
Viewers don't need to be emotionally compelled by a narrator's delivery if the story, especially tough stories with real victims, is compelling enough.
The brave people telling their true stories should have had a lot more time. Too little substance and too much over dramatised voice filler.
Some of the shots were beautiful.
But all in all, pretty painful to watch which was disappointing as I love the genre and I wanted to like it.
Lots of people would have worked hard on these shows, and to have it let down by choice of narrator or direction for the narrator or the narrator's script (because we really don't know whose at fault for the awful narration choices) would be a tough one for all the people who put in the hard yards.
Looking at the comments, it's a common complaint.
