I’ve watched this movie in parts over the years, and never really rated it as a movie I’d recommend. Having just seen it in its entirety, the movie has many complex levels. The main premise of the movie is science versus faith. Its conduit is through masterful performances by Ellie and Palmer. Both in conflict of beliefs but in love. The journey of their love story is intriguing. By the end of the movie their love had matured into a compromising, accepting and even a partial adopting of beliefs of their partners. As a viewer you’re left contented that science and God can coexist. Even the most hardened views on religion and atheism has room for tolerance and acceptance. A very underrated movie
