I usually love Kristen Hannah books! This book is not one of them. The main character is a privileged young woman who chose to go to war as a nurse. Reading the harrowing experiences nursing on the front line in Vietnam was very distressing. It was disturbing on so many levels. The male soldiers were liars about their marital status and just wanted to have sex with the female nurses! Frankie, the main character comes back home after serving two tours in Vietnam with PTSD! One thing this book shows really well is how war is hell and the lasting impact it has on those who serve!
