This book has helped me to analyze and accept my intense grief, even a year and a half after the loss of my cat. The facts about death and loss, and ideas to cope suggested here are excellent. I cannot recommend this book highly enough for anyone who feels intense grief over the loss of a pet, has found miniscule support from family and friends (which involves shame), even closest of friends, and is questioning themselves, or judging themselves. You are not crazy or alone or messed up or anything. You are feeling true things that should never be minimized, and this book helps you acknowledge and navigate these feelings, understand those in your life who cannot, and gives many and varied ways to attempt to begin to cope and, hopefully, move forward in life without having to leave behind or forget your precious friend, but suggests ways to incorporate your lost pet into your dramatically changed life, to bring the most that is positive from your devastating loss.
