If you aren't too harsh on typical anime-like stuff, with that kind of humor/ character design(esp in females) there isn't much else to harp on. It's a good story, and the characters are memorable & developed overtime. Good graphics. There's always a challenging battle out there, even if you're max level. When you finish the game(10 chapters total), there is new game + and a bunch of DLC with more to do, and a whole other game(like a prequel) included. There's a lot of grinding/farming to complete everything. Game play is open world with RPG fighting. Quests/plot has cut scenes, but w/o them there's no real point..and they're funny and touching usually. I did not play the first Xenoblade, and I didn't need to. It doesn't have much to do with this one, though some of those characters are brought back in the DLC. I overall liked it a lot, and I am still salty I can't get lucky and draw the few last rare blades. :/
