Just started Army of the Dead and already the idiocy of American filmmaking in the millennial age is placed front and center. The opening scene, the HOOK, the sequence that is supposed to engage our empathies and transfer us into the fantastic is truly one of the dumbest, most implausible I have ever seen. EVER. That's over 40 years of watching and analyzing film. If this isn't the most ridiculous opening scene in the history of Hollywood, its gotta be in the top 5.
You would think with all the firepower behind this production the quality of writing, especially for the most important scene of the film, would be more authentic, original, you know REALISTIC. But, nope, once again, Hollywood insults the American viewer with its out of touch, misogynistic, 20th century approach to humor.
