The movie “Follow Me” is the epitome of extremeties. Many will say that they did not like the ending of this movie. However, I believe that is the whole point of the movie. You are not supposed to like it. SPOILERS: Th ending showcases the meaning of “taking things too far” - as Cole’s friends celebrates the social media vlogger by going to the extreme. These are some of the examples of his friends took things too far; • At the start, Cole soon realises that the games are literally hurting (as he believes) his friends. He seems to be the only one adamant in figuring out the challenges while his friends pretend to not know anything. • Forcing Cole to watch his friends being tortured on video. This causes him to believe that he needs to escape. • After finally managing to escape the building, Cole believes he must “save” his other friends. Therefore, forcing him to go back to save them rather than leave. • Cole then watches his remaining friends “die” in front of him. This shows how easily you can manipulate someone into thinking what you want them to think. In the end, he himself - Cole - finally “takes things too far” as a result of his friends’ prank.
