Sharon Stone's performance harkens back to the many roles of Joan Crawford when she played a predatory, lonely, aggressive older woman always bordering with a mix of desperate vulnerability. Stone did a great job to the point of me wondering how much did she have to act in the role. Hedlund and Weller were also believable in their roles. In fact, each character had their own personal desperate agenda. I felt like Soderbergh's directing had evolved to an even more minimalist aesthetic creating more interest. The location and geography was beautiful.
